Shabnam Rafieizadeh serves as a Spring 2023 legal and policy intern for ICAR. She is currently a 3L student in New England Law | Boston in her final semester. She has already completed both her international law and business law concentrations.  She is an active member of her law school’s operational-level grievance mechanism (OGM) project, in which she is both a senior researcher and on the database + report team. She has dreamt of becoming a lawyer since childhood, later developing an interest to become a lawyer in international business within the field of compliance and human rights during her undergraduate years in Boston University. In addition to her professional career thus far, she interned at the Paris-based NGO Robin des Bois in 2019 and interned with an immigration firm prior. She is a first-generation Iranian-American and is fluent in Persian/Farsi and French.
